Assisted Living Homes
Caleb House
An attorney in Newport purchased this house for Project New Start to be utilized as our second men's drug and alcohol recovery home. The Caleb House was opened in September of 2006 and dedicated to the Lord on October 31, 2006. Now the Caleb House serves as our men's assisted living home. The Caleb House is capable of supporting eight graduates or near graduates who are gainfully employed in the local community as part of their recovery program. There is a scripture that it is written on the outside wall of the Caleb House that we pray all our graduates and everybody lives by: "Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding." - Proverbs 3:6. Assisted living homes are vital for graduates to have a loving, Christian environment to live in after they graduate. With assisted living homes, graduates no longer have to rent a place in an apartment complex where drugs and alcohol are prevalent and rampant. With Christian assisted living homes, graduates have the opportunity to live in an environment where they can grow in their daily walk with our Lord and be free temptations. The residents of our assisted living homes have other graduates who are now drug free to live with and can provide an encouraging word when needed and who truly love them as brothers. as it is written: "And this commandment have we from him, that he who loveth God love his brother also." - 1 John 4:21.
The Esther House is also utilized as a home for a woman with child who does not have anyone they can turn to for help or who cares about the life they are carrying. This designated portion of the Esther House is the Deborah House. The Esther House provides a safe haven where a woman can know she has a place where the love of God abounds and a place where people truly care for her and the precious, unborn life she has in her womb. The Esther House provides an alternative to the horror of abortion. Every life is precious in God's eyes. As it is written in Jeremiah 1:5, "Before I formed thee in the belly, I knew thee." God has a wonderful, beautiful, blessed plan for every child that is in a mother's womb, every child that is born today. Our assisted living home, the Esther House, provides a loving, Christian home as an alternative to having an abortion.
