FAITH DECLARATIONS - CONFESSIONS - COVENANT BLESSINGS
I am an heir of God and a joint heir with Christ, sharing His inheritance in kingdom rights as an adopted son with Him. I now receive the blessings of life and abundance that Jesus obtained for me, for he freely gives me all things. I am blessed in the city and am blessed in the country. I am blessed when I come in and I am blessed when I go out. I am the head and not the tail. I am above only and not beneath. You have opened unto me your good treasure. I shall lend to many... and I shall not borrow. So I now declare my home, my family and my life off limits to Satan and his cohorts. I walk and operate in the blessings of Abraham. My God keeps covenant because He swore by no one greater, He swore by Himself. It is impossible for my God to lie.
In an unpredictable world, we at the New Life Church have put our faith and hope in God. "For I know the plans I have for you, " declares the Lord..."plans to give you hope for the future." - Jeremiah 29:11 Are you attending a place of worship? If not, we at the New Life Church would love to see you in the next worship service.

Our Vision - Matthew 25:35-36
Our vision at the New Life Church is to change the city of Newport, Arkansas, the surrounding communities and the area through the teaching of the Word of God, providing food and clothing for the needy and taking the time to care for others. We are reaching across racial barriers to bring all of God's children together. We are in a constant state of prayer for God to pour out His Spirit on everyone, everywhere. John Calvin said, over 400 years ago, "When the church is the church - that is, when the marks of the church are evident, the culture around the church is inevitably transformed." Some of the many visions we have at the New Life church is to break down racial barriers and prejudice and reach out to the lost, the depressed, the needy and to bring all the children of God together. Our vision is to help every man and woman break the bonds of drug and alcohol addiction. Our vision is to provide food for the single mother with children, the elderly person on a fixed income and the person who has just lost their job. Our vision is to visit those who are incinerated and bring them the gospel of Jesus Christ who can truly set them free. Our vision is to visit the lonely, forgotten shut-ins and give them a kind smile and uplifting visit. As Jesus said in Matthew 25:35-36, "For I was hungered, and ye gave me meat; I was a stranger, and ye took me in; naked, and ye clothed me; I was sick, and ye visited me; I was in prison, and ye came unto me." We, at the New Life Church are a hands on Church and always pledge to honor these words of Jesus Christ.
We Believe - Statement of Faith
This church accepts the Scripture as the revealed Will of God, the all-sufficient rule of faith and practice, and for the purpose of maintaining general unity, adopts these Statements of Fundamental Truths and Doctrine.
1.The inthe Bible to be given by inspiration of the Holy Spirit, infallible, and that it is God's revealed word to man.
2.The One True Godhead We believe that Scripture teaches that there is only one true and living God who has chosen to reveal Himself as Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. (Deuteronomy 6:4, Isaiah 43:10-11, Matthew 28:19, and Luke 3:22)
3.The Diety of the Lord Jesus Christ The Lord Jesus Christ is the external Son of God. The Scriptures declare: A. His virgin birth (Matt. 1:23; Luke 31 & 35) B. His sinless life (Heb. 7:26; I Peter 2:22) C. His miracles (Acts 2:22; 10:38) D. His substitutionary work on the cross (I Cor. 15:3, II Cor. 5:21) E. His bodily resurrection from the dead (Matt. 28:6; Luke 24:39; I Cor. 15:4) F. His exaltation to the right hand of God (Acts 1:9, 2:33; Phil. 2:9-11; Heb. 1:3)
4.The Fall of Man Man was created good and upright; for God said, "Let us make man is our image, after our likeness." However, man by voluntary transgression fell and thereby incurred not only physical death, but spiritual death, which is separation from God (Gen. 1:27-27; 2:17; 3:6; Romans 5:12-19)
5.The Salvation of Man Man's only hope of redemption is through the shed blood of Jesus Christ. On the cross Jesus Christ became sin and sickness providing both salvation and divine healing for all mankind, (Psalm 103:3) being justified freely by His grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus. For by grace we are saved through faith. "The Word is near you, in your mouth and in your heart, that is, the word of faith which we are preaching, that if you confess with your mouth Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you shall be saved; for with the heart of believers, resulting in righteousness, and with the mouth he confesses, resulting in salvation" (Romans 3:24; Ephesians 2:8; Romans 10:8-10)
The Evidence of Salvation The inward evidence, to the believer of his salvation, is the direct witness of the Spirit (Romans 8:16).The outward evidence to all men is a life of righteousness and true holiness. "and this is His commandment, that we believe in the name of His Son Jesus Christ, and love another, just as He commanded us" (I John 3:23)
Faith and Works Salvation is by faith in Jesus Christ and not by human works; however, our works will determine the rewards in eternity (Acts 16:3; Romans 10:9-10; Ephesians 2:8-9; Titus 3:5-7; Romans 14:12-20; and II Corinthians 5:10)
6.Ordinances of the Church Baptism in Water. The ordinance of baptism by a burial with Christ should be observed as commanded in the Scriptures by all who have really repented and in their hearts have truly believed on Christ as Savior and Lord. In so doing, they declare to the world that they have died with Jesus and that they have also been raised with Him to walk in newness of life ( Matthew 28:19; Acts 10:47-48; Romans 6:4)
The Lords Supper (Holy Communion) "And when He had given thanks He broke it, and said, this is my body which is for you. Do this in remembrance of me. In the same way also the cup, after supper saying, This cup is new covenant in my blood. Do this, as often as you drink it, in remembrance of me. Let a man examine himself, and so eat of the bread and drink of the cup" (I Corinthians 11:24 & 25-28)
7. The Baptism in the Holy Spirit All believers are entitled to and should ardently expect and earnestly seek the promise of the Father, the baptism in the Holy Spirit, according to the command of our Lord Jesus Christ. This was the normal experience of the believers in the early Christian Church. This experience is accompanied by, but not limited to, the initial physical evidence of speaking in tongues (glossolalia)as the Holy Spirit Himself gives utterance (Matt. 3:11; John 14:16-17; Acts 1:8; Acts 2:38-39; Acts 19:1-7; Acts 2:4). With it, comes the endowment of power for life and service, the bestowment of the gifts and their uses in the work of the ministry (Luke 24:29; Acts 1:4 & 8; I Corinthians 12:1-31). This experience is distinct from and subsequent to the experience of the new birth (Acts 8:12-17; 10:44-46; 11:12-16; 15:7-9). With the baptism in the Holy Spirit come such experiences as an overflowing fullness of the Spirit (John 7:37-39; Acts 4:8), a deepened reverence for God (Acts 2:43; Heb. 12:28), and intensified consecration to God and dedication to His work (Acts 2:42), and a more active love for Christ, for His Word, and for the lost (Mark 16:20). We recognized the operation of the Gifts of the Spirit in the Believer's lives according to (I Corinthians 12:4-11).
8. Sanctification Sanctification is a progressive act of the separation from that which is evil and of dedication unto God(Romans 12:1-2; I Thessalonians 5:23; Heb. 13:12). The scriptures teach a life of holiness "without which no man shall see the Lord" (Heb. 12:14). By the power of the Holy Spirit we are able to obey the command: "Be ye holy for I am holy" (I Peter 1:15-16)
9. The Church The church is the Body of Christ, the habitation of God through the Spirit with divine appointments for the fulfillment of her great commission. Each believer born of the Spirit is an integral part of the general assembly and Church of the firstborn, which are written in heaven (Ephesians 1:22-23; 2:22; Heb. 12:23).
10. The Ministry A divinely called and scripturally ordained ministry has been provided by our Lord for a two-fold purpose: A. The evangelization of the world. B.The edifying of the body of Christ through the maturing and training of believers for ministry. (Mark 16:15-20; Ephesians 4:11-12)
11. Divine Healing Divine healing is an integral part of the Gospel. Healing from sickness is provided for in the atonement and is the privilege of all believers (Isa. 53:4-5; Matt. 8:16-17; James 5:14-16).
12. The Blessed Hope The resurrection of those who have fallen asleep in Christ and their translation. Together with those who are alive and remain unto the coming of the Lord is the imminent and blesses hope of the Church (I Thessalonians 4:16-17; Rom. 8:23; Titus 2:13; I Cor. 15:51-52).
13. The Millennial Reign of Christ The second coming of Christ includes the rapture of the saints, which is our blessed hope, followed by the visible return of Christ with His saints to reign on the earth for one thousand years(Zechariah 14:5; Matt. 24:27-30; Rev. 1:7; 19:11-14; 20:1-6). This Millennial reign will bring the salvation of national Israel (Ezekiel 37:21-22; Zephaniah 3:19-20; Rom. 11:26-27) and the establishment of universal peace (Isa. 11:6-9; Psalms 72:3-8; Micah 4:3-4)
14. The Final Judgement There will be a final judgement in which the wicked dead will be raised and judged according to their works. Whosoever is not found in the Book of Life, together with the Devil and his angels, the beast and the false prophet, will be consigned to everlasting punishment in the lake of fire which is the second death (Matth. 25:46; Mark 9:43; Rev. 19:20; 20:10-15; 2:8).
15. The New Heavens and the New Earth We, according to His promise, look for new heavens and a new earth, wherein dwelleth righteousness (II Peter 3:13; Rev. 21;22).
We believe that man is sinful being in need of redemption. (Genesis 1:26-31, 3:1-7, Psalms 51:5, Ecclesiastes 7:29, John 6:44, Romans 5:12-21, and I Corinthians 2:14) We believe in the virgin birth of Jesus Christ, that He is the Son of God and the son of man, that He came to save man from condemnation of sin by offering His blood as an atonement and making it available to all who exercise faith in Him. (Matthew 1:23, Luke 1:31-35, John 3:16, I Corinthians 15:3, and II Corinthians 5:21). We believe that salvation of lost and sinful man, regeneration by the Holy Spirit is absolutely essential. (Luke 7:50, 24:47, Romans 10:13-15, I Corinthians 1:18, II Corinthians 2:15, Ephesians 2:8-9, II Timothy 1:9 and Titus 2:11 & 3:5-7). We believe the Scriptures ascribe to the Holy Spirit the acts and attributes of an intelligent being, and that the works of God such as, creation, inspiration, giving of life, and sanctification are also ascribed to the Holy Spirit. (Genesis 1:2, Job 33:4, Mark 3:29, John 16:8 & 13, Acts 7:51, 10:19, 13:2, 16:6, I Corinthians 2:11, 6:11-12, Ephesians 4:30, I Peter 3:18 and II Peter 1:21). We believe in the sanctifying power of the Holy Spirit by whose indwelling the Christian is enabled to live a holy life. (Romans 8:5, Philippians 2:12-13, I Thessalonians 4:3 and I John 2:29). We believe that the baptism in the Holy Spirit is given to believers who ask for it. (Joel 2:28 and Acts 2:4) We believe that all mankind is subject to the death of the body as a result of original sin. The soul and spirit do not die, but immediately after death enter into a conscious state of happiness or misery according to the character here possessed by rejection or acceptance of the Savior. (Ecclesiastes 12:7, Romans 5:12 and Philippians 1:23). We believe in the bodily resurrection of both the saved and the lost, the saved to everlasting life and the lost without Christ to everlasting damnation. (Matthew 24:31-46, Acts 24:15 and Revelation 22:11). We believe in the personal, imminent return of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. (Acts 1:11) We believe the redemptive work of Christ on the cross provides healing for the human body in answer to believing prayer. (Isaiah 53:4-5, James 5:14-15 and I Peter 2:24).
Pastor Tim Bumpous Pastor Tim is a humble, yet bold servant of God. He is the senior pastor and founder of the New Life Church of God in Newport, Arkansas and the Director of Project New Start. Pastor Tim was called to the ministry in 1994 and began preaching to those behind bars in the jails and prisons. He began to evangelize in churches around Arkansas, however he knew that God had placed a calling upon him to pastor a church. Pastor Tim gave up a successful building contractor business to follow the Lord's calling and become a full time pastor. God promises a new life when we accept Him and Pastor Tim is a vessel that God is using. God has given Pastor Tim a calling for the lost, the depressed, the needy, the elderly, the sick and those who are dealing with addictions in their lives. God is using Pastor Tim to change lives in Newport, Arkansas and the surrounding area. After much prayer and fasting, Pastor Tim found himself at 1417 Dewey Avenue in Newport, Arkansas, where a church was for sale. God made a way for him to purchase this church and God is changing lives in Newport and the surrounding area. This building is now the New Life church where the congregation is growing in number and growing in the Spirit. Our pastor has a true anointing over him. Our pastor is a man who truly cares for everyone. Our pastor is a man who wants everyone to come and know the love of Jesus Christ in their lives. Pastor Tim started Project New Start and its numerous outreach programs. Project New Start is based upon the teaching of Jesus Christ as outlined in Matthew 25: "For I was hungry, and ye gave me meat; I was thirsty, and ye gave me drink; I was a stranger, and ye took me in; naked, and ye clothed me; I was sick, and ye visited me; I was in prison, and ye came unto me." Pastor Tim & Leslie Bumpous
