LOVE reminds me of a story about a young man who had two loving parents and a good  home life. However, this  young man chose to go his own direction in life and ended up  in the gutters of life. He became addicted to drugs as well as alcohol and his life became  unmanageable. Psalms 107 (NIV) says “Some became fools through their rebellious ways and suffered affliction because of their iniquities. Then they cried to the LORD in their  trouble, and he saved them from their distress. He brought them out of darkness, the utter darkness, and broke away their chains.” This is  love that God would reach down and heal a sinner like the young man in this story. Now the young man has made a  commitment to God that he would spend the rest of his life showing God’s love to others. By Pastor, Tim Bumpous

 Project New Start has nearly completed the Promise Land Home. We are excited and blessed to be so close to being able to open our doors to hurting people. • The theme this month for February at New Life Children’s Home  is LOVE. In John 15:12-13 Jesus said “This is my commandment that you love one another as I have loved you. Greater love has no one than this; than to lay down ones life for his friends.” The New Life Children’s Home opened its doors in 2009. Since that time we have seen hundreds of children come to New Life Children’s Home (NLCH). We have also seen hundreds leave.  We also know we will see many more make a temporary home here. We are a temporary solution to such a growing epidemic. NLCH along with its supporters is dedicated to making a difference in the lives of children and families. These children come from all different walks of life. They all have one thing in common and that is a desire to go home with a loving mother and father. Sadly, for some of these children, reuniting with their families will not be an option but for some it will be an answer to a much needed prayer. Please remember to pray for all of the children that have been at NLCH, all that are to come as well as all the others that are in need of a safe, loving and stable environment. Together we really can make a difference in the  lives of these children that will last throughout  all eternity. Thank you for being such  an important part of NLCH and for your prayers for the children. VISION 2012 

God says in Proverb 29:18 KJV : “Where there is no vision, the  people perish.” The NASB says “Where there is no vision, the people are unrestrained.” Vision is the ability for human beings to dream and to fulfill God’s plan upon the earth. In order for thy will to be done on earth, as it is in heaven, we the children of God must understand vision. Vision is the ability that God gives to certain individuals to understand clearly the immediate as well as long-range goals of a particular unit of  the Body of Christ and to devise and execute effective plans for the accomplishment of those goals. We must remember it is God’s will to bring the human race closer to Jesus, to teach them His ways and to remind them that He loves them. PNS is setting forth our vision for 2012. We have a big vision  but I ask you this question? Is God big enough? The New Year is here and it is time to dream big. I encourage you to partner with us as we are reaching out and doing the work of the Lord. Please see inside for our vision for 2012.

I met with the Newport School Board  on December 19, 2011. They agreed  to give us the lease on the Castle Berry School for a youth children’s home. The children’s home will be a blessing for this community. The children’s home will be supported for by God’s people.

Food Bank – Food bank is open every Wednesday from 2:00pm-6:00pm at New Life Church. Please bring your id.

Coat Drive – New Life Church is hosting a coat drive. If you would like to donate a used or new coat please drop off at the New Life Church (1417 Dewey Ave., Newport, AR 72112).

January1/13/12- New Life Children’s Home is having a fundrasier next Friday in Wynne, AR. We will be handing out flyers at several stores for a food drive for the children’s home. If you would like to donate food, please stop by.

Camp Meeting- Speaker Bill Williams will be here at New Life Church on January 21st and January 22nd from 7pm-9pm. Come join us !! Catch The Fire!

NEA Prayer Conference- The Rock Church in Jonesboro, AR is hosting the NEA prayer conference on January 19th and 20th from 7pm-9pm. The address for the church where the prayer conferece will take place is 4318 E. Johnson Ave. in Jonesboro , Ar.   Come join us !

New Life Church is having a Christmas Food Drive for everyone in Jackson County. Everyone is welcome to pick up food (even if a person or family has already picked up food for that month). The food bank will be located at (1417 Dewey Ave, Newport AR) Everyone in Jackson County is welcome! Call us at 870-523-8413 with any questions.

- New Life Church’s Christmas Service

New Life Church will have their regular morning service starting with Sunday school at 10:00am then their morning church service at 12:00pm. There will not be an evening service, since it is Christmas.

- New Life Church Children’s Christmas Play

New Life Church will be holding their children’s Christmas play “The Birth of Jesus” on 12/21/2011 at 7:00pm. Everyone is welcome to come and enjoy the Christmas play.

 - Pumpkin Rolls are still for sale

to help New Life Children’s Home kids go to Winter fest in Branson, MO. Call 870-523-8413 for a delicious pumpkin roll for $12.00 to help support the children’s home.

 - New Life Children’s Home Fundraiser’s for December

A fundraiser will be held to support the New Life Children’s Home at different stores throughout Searcy, Arkansas. There will be tables’ setup outside the following grocery stores: Cash Saver, Harps, Save-A-Lot and Mayflower if you would like to stop by and support the children’s home. Also, anyone can bring items they want to donate up to the stores as well.

God’s Gift for Christmas

“Behold, you will conceive in your womb and bring forth a son, and shall call his name Jesus”. Luke 1:31

Jesus really is the reason for the season. He is the reason for all of humanity. God sent his son through a young virgin named Mary as the Savior of the world. In John 3:16 the Bible tells us that “For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.”  Jesus Christ the Savior of the world is God’s gift to each and every one of us that we can be free from sin and live an abundant life. During the Christmas season there is a spirit of gratitude and giving in the atmosphere. Let us keep that spirit of gratitude in our hearts all year long remembering those less fortunate. Share with someone today and all year long the real meaning of Christmas. God offers the best gift that could ever be given and that is his only son Jesus Christ. Thank you for making a difference in the lives of so many  and for partnering with us. Together we can make a difference and  keep the spirit of Christmas alive all year long.  By Leslie Bumpous

New Life Children’s Home Newsletter

Merry Christmas from NLCH!

Christmas is a special time of year, especially for children.  Unfortunately for many children, Christmas time is hard, difficult and filled with bad memories.  Even Jesus had two parents that loved Him and followed the Lord’s law.  Most children at New Life Children’s Home have no parents.   The rest will be separated from the family they do have this Christmas.

How will these children grow up strong?  How will these children be filled with wisdom?  You must pray that the grace of God is upon them.  You must rise up and respond to the call God has placed on you to help. You can be a foster parent.  You can adopt a child.  You can provide Christmas presents.  You can be a financial supporter.  You can be a constant prayer partner that can be counted on.  You can give more of yourself if you make the commitment before God to answer His call.

God will provide the children here a wonderful Christmas by His grace.  God uses His people to fulfill his purposes. By Nathan Bentz
