GOD’S STORE HOUSE
“Supplying Food To Those In Need”
“But whoso hath this world’s good, and seeth his brother have need, and shutteth up his bowels of compassion from him, how dwelleth the love of God in him? My little children, let us not love in word, neither in tongue; but in deed and in truth”. 1 John 3:17-18
Our Present Food Closet
Our food bank ministry has been growing since we began in 2003. God’s Storehouse, Project New Start’s food bank, fed approximately 2,800 families in 2010. There are a growing number of families in our communities, cities and surrounding areas who are having to choose between paying bills, buying food or paying for medical expenses. Many of these families have the head of the household unemployed or disabled. Many of these people are the elderly living on a small or fixed income. Some of these individuals and families have made unselfish contributions to our community. It is so very important to keep our pantries full because the need is so great. Many families in our area do not get enough food to provide the nutrients for fully productive and active lives. No one should have to go to bed hungry. Presently, God’s Storehouse works out of an over-sized closet at New Life Church.
“Religion that God our Father accepts as pure and faultless is this: to look after orphans and widows in their distress and to keep oneself from being polluted by the world”. James 1:27
Food Bank Day
LOCATION
At New Life Church
Every Wednesday
1417 Dewey Ave. Newport, AR 72112Operation Hours: 2:00 – 6:00 P.M.
Every Wednesday, Project New Start operates it’s food bank, God’s Storehouse. Presently we work out of the New Life Church. As it is written in Matthew 25, “it is our charge as disciples of Jesus, to feed the hungry”.
We give as much as we can to help out those who are hungry and without. It is such a joy to see a little child smile when they see a sweet snack in their bags and it is a real blessing to know the food we give will help someone not to go hungry.
Emergency Food Crisis
In case of emergency please call the numbers listed below and staff will make arrangements to assist in cases of burn out or other natural disasters. Please bring all forms of identification for everyone living in your household so we can better assist you. Also, be sure to bring drivers licenses , which are required to pickup food.
Our Christmas Food Bank 2011
This year during our Christmas food bank we fed over 360 families. Thanks to all the businesses, individuals as well as First Baptist Church who helped us assist so many families. It is a true blessing to be able to give to the people who are less fortunate. If you would like to help by donating, please click on the “Donate” link on our home page. May God bless you.

THE FUTURE GOD’S STORE HOUSE
The future God’s Storehouse is “in the dry”. We are currently working on finishing the interior of this building. God’s Storehouse still lacks all the necessary interior finish to open up it’s doors. We still have items needed to complete the building such as interior partitions, a heating and cooling system, shelving, plumbing fixtures, etc. Due to the generous donations we have received, we are continuing on the construction. Our plan for the building is to have a large upstairs storage in addition to the food storage plus a food distribution area on the lower level. With this larger facility, we will better be able to serve the food needs of our local communities as well as will be able to stock the pantries of other area food banks. If you would like to donate food items, make a financial donations or construction materials to help us finish out the interior of the building, please contact us or go to our homepage and click on the “Donate” link. God bless you and thank you.
